Call it a buyer’s high. We’re still coming down from the exhilaration of an incredible four days at ASD Market Week, last month, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where tens of thousands of attendees took to the floor for the largest wholesale retail merchandise show in the US for fresh inventory, unbeatable deals, and new connections. You may have already seen buyers and vendors sharing the love on social media since we wrapped — here’s a little glimpse at why (although you kind of had to be there).
The Buzz Heard Round the Retail World
The energy was off the charts as we welcomed attendees from across the country and around the globe. There was an incredible buyer presence from Mexico and Latin America, including many organizations and buying groups such as ANTAD and ANIERM. The show treated buyers to an impressive selection of vendors in the newly renovated North Hall, as well as the South Hall. Complimentary golf cart service shuttled buyers between locations, making it easier than ever to navigate the show and maximize product discovery. Hundreds of new vendors like, Nellie’s, Beadiful, Deskolite, Holly Heide, Andy & Bash, The Lavish Goat, Rocky Mountain Sticker Company, Alleanza Ceramica, Burst Party, Countryside Art Gallery, D2S Bags Inc., Essential Washer, Loli Home LLC, Ooh Yeah Socks, and Cork Culture joined us in March, adding to an already outstanding lineup, which totaled over 1,800 vendors in 19+ overarching product categories.
So Much to See
With over a million distinct products and clever merchandising ideas around every corner, there was no shortage of eye candy, inspiration, or trends. Some of the biggest themes we saw pop up across the floor were innovative tech and gadgets, fun approaches to fashion, coastal and beachy items, and gifts galore— including pet products in the Brazil Pavilion at SourceDirect. There were also plenty of products designed to put our love of pets on display (think pajamas and shower curtains adorned with cats and dogs). Live selling is another hot trend — although we don’t think it’s going away any time soon. Whatnot and The Buying Agency showcased expert live selling strategies to supercharge sales right on the show floor, featuring hot products from ASD vendors.
In It to Win It
Vendors who set a new bar across the show floor received special recognition with Exhibitor Awards. Here are the winners selected by our judges — all knowledgeable buyers themselves — hailing from the retailers Waldo’s, WH Smith, LGO Hospitality, Gabes, and Divers Direct.
